Questions: 1.Requires you to understand the nature of data collected using a Likert scale. You will need to understand the limitations of data collected in this way in order to be able to explain why the manipulation in the question is not valid. 2.You will need to be a little creative with this one. You will need to consider whether the people filling out the survey are an accurate representation of all Customers and explain. 3.Is a little more straightforward. For each sub-question you need to think about what the nature of the data is and which categorization suits it best. 4.You will need to think about the requirements for each type of quantitative study. Think of how the hypothesis might be tested in each of these three ways. Answers: 1.As per the provided situation, it can be said that there are 100 customers and all of them provides response of the survey. The scores will be represented as strongly disagree, disagree, unsure, agree and strongly agree. Two types of processes have been shown in the situation. In the first situation, it is 100 if all the number of customers is added up. On the other hand, it will be 100% in case the total percentage of responses is added up. Thus, it can be seen that it is a correct and effective process to summaries the data. However, in case of the second situation, it can be seen that the number of customers in each slot is multiplied with the number of ranks. For this reason, the total number of surveys customers becomes 319. This is wrong information, as the total number of surveyed customers is 100. For this reason, this process fails to provide the valid summary. In this reason, it needs to be mentioned that the first method is more valid process to present the data as it pr ovides the actual and correct value of the customers and values. 2.From the provided situation, it can be seen that the customers can fill out the survey from the stores website. In this regard, it needs to be mentioned that in some situations, the collected data from the survey do not reflect the true perception of the customers; and in some situations, the collected data from the survey do reflect the true perception of the customers. There are many reasons of this. It can be happened that the customers fill the survey out of fun. Thus, in this case, the survey will not reflect the true intention of the customers. There are situations where the customer is extremely happy with the product or service or is not satisfied with the products and services of the company. In these situations, the customers may share their satisfaction or dissatisfaction by taking participation in the survey. In this cases, the data collected will reflect the true perception of the customers. Thus, based on the above analysis, it can be said that collected data does not always reflect the true perception of the customers. 3.In case of Gender, nominal data are collected. Nominal data are collected as gender is considered as categorical variable that have two categories; they are male and female. In addition, there is not any intrinsic ordering to the categories. In case of Fahrenheit thermometers and Kelvin thermometers, interval data will be collected. Temperature is a kind of element that is used to illustrate an interval scale. Thus, interval data will be collected. In case of the number of items a customer buys, ordinal data will be collected. Ordinal variables helps to categorize different kinds of values. Thus, in this case, ordinal data will be collected. In case of bank account balances, ratio scale type of data will be collected. Ratio scale variables are considered as interval variables. In this case, zero (0) measurement indicates that there is not any balance left in the bank. This same theory is applicable for the bank balances. 4.In case of descriptive non-experimental study, predictor variable can be seen. With the help of these variables, the hypothesis can be tested in a descriptive way. For this reason, case study can be developed to test the hypothesis. Quasi experiment study is the next step of descriptive non-experimental study. In this case, variables are taken into consideration; the variables are three times per week and four days each week. However, in the experimental study, the hypothesis is tested in a proper basis, as this is the combination of above two steps. Thus, an experimental study will provide firmest evidence.

US. Vs. Richard Nixon Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

US. Vs. Richard Nixon - Research Paper Example Since it was evident that the tapes might contain some contents that transgressed the arena of a president’s executive responsibility, the executive privilege of the President could not deny the judicial authority’s access to criminal evidence in a judicial proceeding. Historical Background of the United States vs. Nixon Case During the presidential campaign in June 1972, a group of burglars equipped with cameras and bugging devices were arrested while attempting to break into the Democratic Party Headquarters in Watergate. Soon in a subsequent police investigation, it became evident that the Nixon officials and even the President himself might be involved in this burglary. Though Nixon government denied any involvement with the crime, it made several attempts to cover up the connections of the burglary to the Oval Office. But under the crushing pressure of the Congress and the public, Nixon was forced to appoint Archibald Cox and Leon Jaworski successively as the speci al prosecutors. Meanwhile it was revealed that Nixon had several records of the conversations that might contain the evidence of the President’s cover-up of the burglary. ... Though Nixon released several edited versions of the tapes, he claimed that the materials were â€Å"protected under executive privilege† (). Also Nixon’s attorney St. Clair argued for the President’s absolute power to withhold information from being released: â€Å"The President wants me to argue that he is as powerful a monarch as Louis XIV, only four years at a time, and is not subject to the processes of any court in the land except the court of impeachment† (Kutler 131). Constitutional Issues and Arguments in the Case At a stage, the questions were raised: 1. whether the President is entitled, by the Constitution induced separation of powers, with an absolute power to maintain confidentiality of information from the court or other branches of the government, 2. whether the President could protect information under executive privilege, 3. whether â€Å"the claim of executive privilege damages the precedent set by the 5th Amendment, which ensures due p rocess† (). On the State’s side, it was argued that the President does not have an absolute power to withhold information, as the court said, â€Å"Neither the doctrine of separation of powers nor the generalized need for confidentiality of high-level communications, without more, can sustain an absolute, unqualified Presidential privilege of immunity from judicial process under all circumstances† (US v. Nixon). Neither the president’s executive privilege should come into conflict with a court’s demand for evidence in a criminal proceeding. Also as far as the question of justice is related to a case, the court can properly render justice, as in this regard Warren Burger wrote, When a claim of Presidential privilege as to materials subpoenaed

Beowulf Essay Example for Free

Beowulf Essay In the epic poem â€Å"Beowulf†, the poet presents both the elements courage and cowardice. These elements are very important and show up continuously throughout the poem. Although the poem is mainly about heroic battles, there are also many cowardly acts among the villagers. The poet significantly develops courage throughout the poem. It is shown when Beowulf challenges Grendel to a battle and ends up defeating him. It is stated that Beowulf fought without any armor and still won. Once done with the fight, he is faced with another battle which is Grendel’s mother. After a tough and long fight, Beowulf ends up winning as well. The brave and courageous thing about Beowulf is that he is willing to do anything and fight for his people, he gives it all his strength to save his village. For example, the challenge with Grendel started because he was terrorizing the Danes. Another example of courage in the poem is when Beowulf fights the dragon, it is clear that this is one of his toughest battles but he cares for his people and puts himself in danger. Beowulf accomplishes a lot for the survival of the Danes and the Geats. On the other hand, cowardice is also shown in the poem through Unferth. Unferth does not want to live under the â€Å"courageous† culture that is so popular in many men anymore. By this, he is letting so much happen to his kingdom and doesn’t care. The most coward thing that Unferth does is give away his sword, it was known back then that a virtuous warrior never parted from his sword. Just like Beowulf is very brave, he has his bad moment as well, he doesn’t want to admit that his time has come and that he is too old to fight the dragon. But the people in Geats show cowardice by not helping their king on his battle. Instead, they hide and just watch not even helping their king who has done so much for them. In conclusion, the epic poem â€Å"Beowulf† may have many brave people but it also shows how some throw away their position as king or do not want to fight for their people anymore, as well as the inconsiderate villagers. Both courage and cowardice are very well portrayed in the poem.
